Tribal land in the United States represents approximately two percent of the country’s total land mass and holds more than five percent of solar photovoltaic potential. However, this resource is largely untapped. This project seeks to unlock some of this potential by bringing together Tribes, Regulators, and Utilities to develop solutions to the regulatory barriers that challenge Tribal solar projects.
Initial stakeholder outreach requested information on the strength and importance of relationships among the project’s three stakeholder groups. Because of the importance of relationships to the development of durable, replicable solutions, this baseline information on the keys and barriers to successful relationships is the first step in this project.
