Registration Open for Listening Sessions

“Share your experiences and ideas for the future of Tribal solar deployment”

The Tribal Solar Initiative seeks to identify, and develop strategies for, regulatory challenges to the development of solar photovoltaic projects at all scales on Tribal land.

In support of this goal, NREL and MTERA will be hosting listening sessions with the three key stakeholder groups: Tribal Representatives, Utility Representatives, and Regulators.

Listening session topics include the following:

Discussion on Barriers and Solutions

  • What are the specific policy challenges that you have experienced, or are aware of, in deploying solar PV on tribal land? This can be at any scale from one solar panel to a utility-scale array.

  • What solutions are you aware of that help to overcome these challenges? If you are not aware of solutions that have been used, what solutions do you think could be used?

 Discussion on Case Studies

  • Throughout this project, we will be gathering case studies to illustrate lessons learned. We will be listening for possible cases during the sessions and will reach out afterward, or you can feel free to reach out directly to us if you would like us to feature your story.
