“Share your experiences and ideas for the future of Tribal solar deployment”
The Tribal Solar Initiative seeks to identify and develop strategies for regulatory challenges to the development of solar photovoltaic projects at all scales on Tribal land.
In November 2020, the project team hosted separate discussions with Tribal Representatives, Utility Representatives, and Regulators. On February 3rd, we are hosting our next discussion that brings together all three stakeholder groups in a single virtual meeting.
When? February 3, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Central Time
Who should attend? Tribal leadership, Tribal staff involved in energy planning and execution, Tribal members interested in solar PV, utility representatives, and regulatory representatives, industry experts, and industry advocates.
Discussion topics include the following:
Barriers and Solutions to Tribal Solar Deployment
What are the specific policy challenges that you have experienced, or are aware of, in deploying solar PV on tribal land? This can be at any scale from one solar panel to a utility-scale array.
What solutions are you aware of that help to overcome these challenges? If you are not aware of solutions that have been used, what solutions do you think could be used?
Case Studies and Success Stories
Throughout this project, we will be gathering case studies to illustrate lessons learned. We will be listening for possible cases during the sessions and will reach out afterward, or you can feel free to reach out directly to us if you would like us to feature your story.
In addition to the listening sessions, NREL and MTERA are offering virtual 1-on-1 calls to obtain additional feedback.
