DOE would like to provide an update on the National Transmission Needs Study (Needs Study) and upcoming available webinars. Per our previous message (see below), DOE plans to release a draft of the Needs Study in or around 30 days and to request your review and feedback. DOE staff will be available in the following venues to brief on the contents of the draft to be released, answer questions, and receive feedback.

Webinar open to all to be held on October 26 at 11 a.m. Eastern to give an overview of the draft Study and answer initial questions. DOE will include webinar registration information with the distribution of the draft of the Needs Study;
Webinar for State Governor’s Offices scheduled for October 20 at 1 p.m. Eastern in partnership with the National Governor’s Association;
Webinar for transmission planners and operators scheduled for October 24 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Eastern in partnership with the National American Transmission Forum;
Webinar focused on State issues scheduled for November 2 at 2 p.m. Eastern in partnership with the National Council on Electricity Policy;
Webinar for State Energy Offices scheduled for November 3 at 2 p.m. Eastern in partnership with the National Association of State Energy Offices;
Webinar for Tribes scheduled for November 7 at 3 p.m. Eastern hosted by DOE (webinar registration information will be included with the distribution of the draft Study).
